Hommerson Beachstadion

Den Haag is voor menig strandsport de bakermat. Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer, Beach Tennis, Beach Hockey en Beach Handball, allemaal zijn ze begonnen op het Scheveningse strand. Velen zijn inmiddels uitgegroeid tot waanzinnig populaire sporten.

In de Topsportvisie 2005 - 2010 kiest de gemeente Den Haag als een van haar speerpunten de ontwikkeling en versterking van beachsporten. Ondersteuning uit zich voornamelijk in het ontwikkelen van (tijdelijke) accommodatie. Met ingang van 2007 presenteert de gemeente Den Haag zich als kersverse eigenaar van het geheel vernieuwde Hommerson Beachsport Stadion waarmee ze haar visie onderstreept.

Bij de invulling van een spetterend zomerseizoen 2008 werkt exploitant Den Haag Marketing nauw samen met de betreffende sportbonden. Bonden als de Nederlandse Volleybal Bond, de Nederlandse Beach Soccer Bond en de Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond zijn enthousiast over de plannen en onderstrepen dat het bouwen van een top accommodatie op het strand van groot belang is voor de groei van hun sport en de nodige impulsen geeft.

Het Hommerson Beachstadion is te vinden op het strand van Scheveningen, vlakbij het havenhoofd. Het beachstadion biedt ruimte aan 2.000 toeschouwers en beschikt over diverse faciliteiten zoals vip gelegenheden, tribunes, horeca uitgifte punten, toiletgroepen, EHBO, een geluidsinstallatie en toegangscontrole. De meeste voorzieningen zijn gedurende de hele periode standaard aanwezig.

May 30st 2008 saw the official opening of Hommerson The Hague Beachstadium.

This fully renovated beach stadium will be hosting a string of sporting highlights through September 13th 2008. After the great beach events of 2007, this year promises to be equally and even more exciting when it comes to beach sports.

Home to top athletes on the weekends, the Hommerson The Hague Beachstadium is at your disposal on weekdays, while the preparations continue behind the scenes. Imagine yourself surrounded by your colleagues or business relations in those inspiring surroundings ! The stadium is a supreme location for team-building sessions, management training, event marketing or sports and relaxation.

The Scheveningen beach evening programmes offer a special way for your guests to end a great day.

The Hommerson The Hague Beachstadium is for hire on weekdays. You can find the stadium on Scheveningen Beach, near the harbour. It seats nearly 2000 spectators, and features vip locations, stands, food and beverage outlets, toilets, first aid and entrance security. Most of these facilities are available throughout the summer season.
